Shoes will ruin you

She bought a pair of shoes.
Well her husband did, she said they were on sale.
"only $700 dollars what a bargin"
"hmmm" I hummed into the air.
" I deserve them. I do nothing all day"
"Well I can see how standing around all day doing nothing can hurt your feet"
I replied then i grabbed my glass and shuffled along in my $10 dollar penny saver shoes.

conversations with a stoner..

" You know how when you are a little kid everything sees so big.Like when you go to the store and you sit in the cart and your feet dangle out.Remember how fun that was? Well what if as an adult we got to ride around in giant carts."

"Then everything would be small too us"

"well we could have giant food too"

"but then we would have small hands, how would we hold the food?"

" we would have giant hands"

" that would be scary, not so much fun"

"stop harshing my mellow man"

5 rolls of film, no good ideas, feeling frustrated.

Filling a hole

There are holes dug up our lawn, holes throughout the yard.
Dug up by little creatures perhaps.
There for my to catch my foot upon and fall into.
To tumble down into the hole, after the rabbit.

Today the mind veered into the moment I first felt scared.

My moment..

I was sitting on the stand in a court room.I remember my sister had given me a piece if gum , as a sort of bribe.
"Make sure when you answer the questions the man asks you, say sir, like No sir, yes sir"
She gave me the gum, the kind in the green wrapper. I was chewing it slowly when the man asked me.
"Do you remember the day, when the first incident happened?"
"yes sir"
I replied the date and chewed slowly
"Can you tell me how it happened"
" I was called over to the room and was asked to pick up a garden hose that was on the floor. When I bent down he reached out....

then my moment happened.
There was a loud Banging on the door.Every one turned and there was my mother banging on the court doors.
"open the fucing door, open the fucking door now, let me out"she screamed.
Up until that moment the only tone i had ever heard in my mothers voice was anger or sadness. At the moment I heard anger, I heard regret, I heard sadness,Most of all I heard fear. Her fear, something I had never heard in her voice. So I knew that if she was scared, that I should be too.

Obscura begins

So the names of people who are interested in the next Lucky Dip are slowly coming in.
We've sat down to discuss how we will do this next one.
At the end of the night it was settled that we would take a new direction.
Just this once we are going to try something new. As it seems most people i recieved email from expressing the desire to partcipate lived out of state and out of country.
So we decided we were going to make this the Lucky dip Art postcard swap.
Every one who is in, will be recieving a list of names and addresses of random other artists who are involved. They will have one month to make some sort of art postcard for every one on their list.Whether it be each card different or each card the same is up to the artist. At the end of the month everyone will put the cards in the mail on the same day
( all must be postmarked the same day) and mail them off to whomever is on their list. Everyone involved will be recieving mail art. In turn they will then scan in the art and post it online at the Lucky dip gallery website (being made now).We will then make a small book af all the art work and those who want a copy can get one (for teh cost of shipping of course, sorry I'm unemployed now). Then eventually we will hopefully get a chance in the future to do an actual exhibition with all the postcards.Mayeb at the new space i'm trying to get (see below)
One of the main reasons for trying it this way is because of the many international artist who are interested.
It becomes a complicated /time consumming matter when having to deal with shipping and exchanging and shipping back art. Since me and my partner both have wee ones now it becomes to time consuming at the moment to deal with it all and be a new mum.So we are hoping that this will get everyone on board for something new as well as get people's brains working in coming up with some amazing work that can be mailed in postcard form/size.
I for one am looking forward to trying to figure out how to print photos on tree bark the size of a postcard, any suggestions???
Anyone who is still intersted in doing this or who have friends of friends who want to give it a go.Please pass on and have them contact me...All they have to do is comment on this site and an email will be sent to me. Then i can give them all the details they need. Or alternatively, hello2charles@yahoo.com. I believe the more involved the more exciting. As of now we have 38 people. Not so bad.But I aim for higher, I have lofty goals.I am giving it a deadline of March 1st...So all people who want in have to let me know by then and give me their details.

In other news, I am in the first stages of finding a small space in my hood that i can use as a sort of gallery space.Something that I can use to have small exhibtions in as well as space for me and a space for up and comming artist where they can just rent the space from me and they can curate an exhibtion of their own.Rather then have to suffer the humilation of gallery rejections or just have a space to get started in.It seems it i sgetting harder and harder to just get a gallery to look at yoru work,so why not just do it all ourselves now a sort of DIY Gallery (hmm maybe thats what I will call it). It's all still in the workings and i have only seen a few spaces in my area that are only a little close to what i am looking for. But like i said it's just in the beginning stages.

A BIG thank you to Harvest for the book, i am almost done and it has come as a great relief of boredom during stages of my day.

Once agian, sorry i am not spellchecking.I really need to work on that or slow down typing.
