These are a few of my favorite things

It dawned on me that I haven't really posted anyhing about Christmas.my favorite holiday, I love everything about it.However I feel to really get everything out of it one must revert to acting like a 10 year old. Eat loads of candoy,food and over decorate and sing Christmas songs loudly and stay up late watching Christmas movies and so on ..

I have few traditions but the ones I do have I cherish and am so excited to finally have a family to pass them onto.
Every year my sister and I exchange hand made ornaments.We've done this since we were about 4 and I've passed this one to my husband and now my daughter will get her decorating ornament this year (she did get a small bird last year,but it wasnt hand made)This year was all about trying to figure out how to make an ornament out of colored paper,and a sparkly ball...

When wrapping gifts you MUST listen to the best cheesiest Christmas music . I have a whole collection of cd's.But you have to start out with Elvis singing Blue Christmas and end with Bing singing White Christmas.

Chrimbo breakfast is scrambbled eggs,juice,toast,bagels with cream cheese and tomatos and chocolate.

All gifts are opened slowly throughout the day.So it just goes on forever.

It's a Wonderful Life and White Christmas will be watched.Afterwords everyone is called by the name Zuzu.

You must at least once fall asleep under the tree staring up into the lights.

EAT EAT EAT,DRINK DRINK DRINK and then eat some more by the fire.

You know what I love about being in London.
The bathtubs.No matter what house or hotel.The bathtubs are always these big long clawtubs.I love the bathtubs.

chilly nights and jetlag

We've made it home for the Holidays. Even with the residual tummy bugs the weather isnt so bad yet.Just really really cold. The Holidays begin with an Estonian Christmas Party that lasted 12 hours.I'm not sure how H. survived 12 vodka shots,at least the 12 I counted,who knows how many more and how much wine and beer he consummed.Frightening to think he only had a "mild" hangover.A brisk morning walk in what was dreadful cold air made as all alive.Today is decorating tree day.We leave Tuesday for Devon for he week.
Then back to London for Christmas,Then January begins with the London Art Fair.

it's 3 in the afternoon and it's very dark outside already,the fire is going and i have hot tea waiting...this is what I missed about London

We got hit..

All 3 of us in the house got hit with the stomach flu.It is not a pretty site here at homebase. It's really messed up all my "things to do" lists. We leave tomorrow and I need to pack and sort everything out for our subleasers.2 Months away requires alot of planning and this flu bug has made it impossible to even get put of bed.I will try my hardest to keep up with things while away.Yes,I'm bringing the computer,if for anything it is to watch my new obsession on dvd...Battlestar Gallactica. I have the first 2 seasons on Dvd just for this tip. I can't believe I got pulled in watching this. If you havent sen it rent the mini series and I'll bet after watching it,you too will have to know what happens next.

Don't Judge a...

12 days and counting till I am off to London. trying to sort things out. I'm spending tomuch time watching these.It's incredibly inspiring to see them and know that all the little films in my head could someday be turned out and I would have a place to put them.

The girl turns 1 in a few days. I can't believe I made it through a whole year. I keep going between moments of Happy/Sad tears and anxiety...a whole year already!! We celebrate tomorrow with a good old fashioned english Tea Party. I think the ifrst birthday is more for us then her.We made it through the year alive.

Oh Oh you know what's really good to watch,this. Not only is it funny but I remember crying when i first saw this scene.

I found out my neighbor wrote a book. So I have a copy and that is what I will read next.However, I am taking recomendations for books for my trip.

I can't remember if I mentioned one of my new favorite sites?

I guess I made the music quote just too easy.Dervunder,had it within minutes it seems. So off the records will go to him this week.

Next I have a small pile of books that I've finished reading,perfect for reading in the tub,at the kitchen table,tucked in bed, drinking coffee with, on the toilet or even in a tent in the woods. I wanted to do a book quote but felt that maybe that would seem pretentious.Then I thought "awe fuck it" if someone gets the quote they deserve the books.They obviously love books as much as me. So I thought I would at least make the quote a little obvious though...so get the quote and you get 4 great books mailed to you (a surprise).I will give hints as well, if needed.
